Pig’s trotter anyone? Dining out at Pierre Koffmann’s Restaurant on the Roof

by abisignorelli on October 20, 2009

I’m keeping this blog short as I’m hoping the audioboo, pictures and 360 degree video tell the story.

In a nutshell, my brother (Pat) and I had lunch at Pierre Koffmann’s pop-up Restaurant on the Roof at Selfridges last week. As some of you may know, Pierre Koffmann is one of the greatest chefs from the past few decades earning three Michelin stars at his restaurant, La Tante Claire. Gordon Ramsay, Marco Pierre-White and Tom Aikens – to name but a few – have all learnt under Koffmann.

Only for a period of three weeks, do you get the chance to sample this master’s food after which point the doors will close, and the pop-up will pop-down. (Although, rumours have it that it may be extended due to heavy demand and top notch reviews).

I feel utterly privileged to have been one of the relative few to have secured a place at what has definitely been my top table – despite there being the odd glitch in service here and there.
The audioboo (above), talks you through what my brother and I ate. And, the video below, shows a 360 degree view of the pop-up restaurant.
The pictures on the left show photos that I took of each plate of food – and, those on the right, show shots taken inside the restaurant itself.
And, if you’re interested to see the menu, I’ve included a picture at the bottom of this blog.

At £75 per head plus wine and service, it’s not for those looking to eat on a budget. But, if you’re a foodie like me, then trust me, it was worth every penny.
