Melcrum Social Media Conference - Lee Bryant interviewWith just four weeks to go to Melcrum’s Social Media Conference, I’m doing a series of interviews with all the speakers and workshop leaders. So far, I’ve interviewed James Bennett, Melcrum’s Head of Content, on the benefits of attending the conference, Euan Semple, our keynote speaker for the event and Pete Stevenson. Creative Director at The Edge, on employee generated videos.

Today, I spoke to Lee Bryant, Co-founder of Headshift, about his workshop on integrating social media into intranet communications.

In this interview, Lee talks about the intranet being a fantastic hub for all social media activity as well as some tips on how to overcome IT and management resistance to opening up the intranet.

We had some great questions coming in from Twitter, which Lee answers during the interview. A big thanks to @Speedball74, @GLATonyStewart, @RobGallo, @socialtechno and @jimmy1712 for sending them in.

On Tuesday, at 11am, I’ll be interviewing Louise McGregor from ING about her presentation on balancing practical secuirty challenges with the drive for a hands-off approach to social media. If you’ve got any questions for Louise or any of the other speakers, do drop me a comment on this blog or tweet me. Thanks

Great – thanks Abi and Lee, really useful stuff. Thanks for answering my question – It's all about transparency in government these days, and it's good to get an idea of the impact this can have on intranets.

No problem Tony – and thanks again to you for sending in questions to two of the interviews. Transparency is indeed tough – however, if it can be achieved, then that is fantastic. Good luck with things and do stay in touch. Abi
